International seafood processor Thai Union has given jobs to more than 1,000 workers who were made redundant in a restructuring of its external supply chain.
Two Western Australian businessmen Robbie Forrest and Brett King are buying the Meat and Poultry Company (MPC) and Drovers Pastoral Company (Drovers) out of liquidation through their business Flown Pty Ltd.
A total of 340 workers at OSI China’s business Shanghai Husi Food Co are to be made redundant following the meat scandal which hit the firm earlier this summer.
