A partnership between canned produce company Shanghai Maling and New Zealand red meat processor Silver Fern Farms reached completion yesterday (Wednesday, 7 December 2016).
The New Zealand government has given the go-ahead for Chinese food operator Shanghai Maling to buy a 50% stake in meat processor Silver Fern Farms for $261 million.
Members of New Zealand co-operative and the country’s largest meat processor Silver Fern Farms have voted overwhelmingly in favour of a partnership with Chinese food operator Shanghai Maling.
China’s leading meat processor Shanghai Maling Aquarius Group is one step closer to taking a 50% stake in New Zealand’s Silver Fern Farms, after shareholders voted with an 82% majority in favour of the deal.
