Coca-Cola Amatil has unveiled its Keri juice manufacturing plant: the largest in New Zealand and with the ability to produce 800,000 bottles a day.

Coca-Cola says the facility in Auckland consolidates operations into a central and accessible hub, and more than doubles the capacity of previous plants.

The plant will produce Powerade, the full range of Keri Juices, Fuze Tea, Glaceau, E2, Thextons, Baker Halls and Pumped lightly-flavoured waters.

It is able to produce 36,000 bottles an hour.

The opening of the facility on Friday (September 23) was attended by New Zealand rower and two-time Olympic Gold medalist, Mahe Drysdale, who is also a Powerade ambassador.

The plant was officially opened by Steven Joyce, Minister for Economic Development.

The launch also debuted Coca-Cola’s new Nitro Hot-Fill processing method, which it says creates lighter bottles and uses less plastic. This is used in the new Powerade Superior Bottle.

The new technology will be used alongside existing Blow-fill and Warm-fill technologies.

Coca-Cola Amatil (NZ) manufactures and distributes beverages in New Zealand and is the authorized manufacturer and distributor for Coca-Cola brands in Fiji and Samoa.
