Azelis expands in MEA with Egyptian dairy and drinks R&D facility

Belgian innovation service provider Azalis is ramping up its presence in the Middle East and Africa with the opening of a new R&D facility in Cairo, Egypt.

The speciality chemicals and food ingredients company said the investment in the new applications lab reinforces its presence in the region’s food and nutrition sector, allowing the team to provide ‘even more innovative and technical support’ to customers in the Middle East and Africa. The facility will primarily focus on dairy and beverages, although it will be ‘fully equipped’ to service other food segments.

The R&D team has already started work on customer formulations an Azelis plans to host regular seminars and training sessionsi n the country.
“We are very happy to have this new application laboratory in Egypt, focusing on dairy and beverages. The lab is equipped with modern technology to best support our customers. We will utilize our lateral value chain and our skilled technical staff to bring new, innovative formulations to the market,” Mattar Mattar, Country Manager, Azelis Egypt, commented.

“Azelis continues to grow its presence and investments in the MEA region, and we’re proud to have this new state-of-the-art facility to improve and optimize our formulations. This lab is a great complement to our other Food & Nutrition laboratories in the region, and allows us to serve our customers even better,” Patrick Finan, Azelis Food & Nutrition Market Segment Director, MEA, added.

Currently, Azelis operates over 60 application labs around the world, each dedicated to a single market segment.
