Mazoon Dairy, the largest integrated dairy company in the Sultanate of Oman, and SIG Combibloc Obeikan, provider of aseptic packaging and filling machines for food and beverages, have announced the launch of a full range of liquid dairy products.

SIG said the products will use its combiblocSlimline and combiblocMini carton packs.

Mazoon Dairy said its goal is to establish the Sultanate as a self-sufficient dairy producer and a hub for food manufacturing. The country currently imports 70% of its dairy products.

The new products will be available in four different sizes (150ml, 200ml, 250ml and 1,000ml) with chocolate, banana and strawberry flavored milks, as well as orange, mango, guava, pomegranate, mixed berry and cocktail in the juice segment.

Dr Arjun Subramanian, CEO of Mazoon Dairy, said, “This launch represents another milestone in our journey of growth. It brings us closer to our bigger goal of fulfilling our national vision for economic development by establishing a self-sufficient economy. Today we are offering the Omani and other regional markets a wider range of products that appeal to every age category, using the highest standards and best practices in the industry. This could not have been possible without the support of our partner, SIG Combibloc Obeikan.”

Abdelghany Eladib, chief operating officer of SIG Combibloc Obeikan, said, “We are honoured to play a role in supporting the Sultanate and Mazoon Dairy’s mission in boosting local self-sufficiency and meeting rising demand. This also falls in line with our strategic expansion into the Sultanate of Oman. By providing the latest product innovations and efficient flexibility solutions, we look forward to continuing our partnership with Mazoon Dairy in their journey towards growth.”

Mazoon Dairy Company was established in 2015 as a closed joint stock company between the Oman Food Investments Company and other government investment and pension funds in Oman with a total capital of OMR100m ($260m).

The site is located in As’Sunainah in the Al Buraimi Governorate and is spread over an area of 15 sq kms. The integrated facility includes a dairy farm with the capacity to house more than 25,000 cows and a central processing plant capable of producing more than 1m liters of liquid milk per day.

The facility also includes a waste water treatment plant and a biogas generation plant. The company’s products include fresh milk, long life milk, flavored milk, yogurt, laban, ice-cream, cheese and juices, reaching consumers across the GCC region.
