China gives Turkish dairy green light

Turkish Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Bekir Pakdemirli and Trade minister Ruhsar Pekcan have announced that barriers to dairy products to be exported to China have been removed.

A mutually-agreed veterinary health certificate was published on the website of the General Directorate of Customs of China, Pakdermirli said.

Minister Pakdemirli stated that the lists of more than 50 companies authorized to export dairy products from Turkey to China were announced by China.

“We continue our efforts to take place in the world market,”​ he said.

Minister Ruhsar Pekcan said the GDCC statement means 54 companies can export dairy products to China, and Turkey would now investigate ways to increasing the market share of dairy products in China.

The Chinese Embassy in Ankara said the decision to allow imports from Turkey would strengthen the “deep cooperation with Chinese companies.”
