AsiaInspection expands Latin American presence

AsiaInspection has acquired GOAL for an undisclosed sum to expand its footprint in Latin America.

GOAL is a Mexican firm which offers pre-customs clearance inspections (PEO, or Previo en Origen) services.

PEO services allow a company importing merchandise to Mexico to make customs clearance faster by performing an inspection at origin.

GOAL employing more than 180 staff globally and performs inspections in China, Vietnam and Indonesia for Mexican retailers, importers and freight forwarders.

The company also helps Mexican clients secure their supply chain with audits and product inspections.

Roberto Ramos Casas, GOAL's founder and CEO, said joining AI was an opportunity to develop within a larger group and offer clients services for product quality and supplier compliance.

AsiaInspection covers consumer goods and food safety and quality in Latin America through product inspections, supplier audits and laboratory testing.

Sebastien Breteau, AsiaInspection's founder and CEO, said GOAL customers can benefit from AI's coverage in 85 countries and services including laboratory testing.

Headquartered in Hong Kong, AsiaInspection has 20 offices, four in-house labs and more than 2,000 employees.
