H.B. Fuller to open hot melt and water-based adhesives factory in Indonesia in 2016
The increased capacity in the region will enable the company to meet local customers' requirements and grow in Southeast Asia, particularly Indonesia.
It wants to grow its network in the Asia Pacific region and the technical services offered by the company's manufacturing facilities in China, the Philippines, Malaysia and Australia.
Adhesives to customers in packaging
Kimberlee Sinclair, director, global communications, H.B. Fuller, told FoodProductionDaily, the plant will provide adhesives to customers in the hygiene, packaging, woodworking, filter, product assembly, container labeling and other durable assembly industries.
“With a population of more than 250 million people, Indonesia is a growing region with consumers whose growing demand is creating opportunities for manufacturers. As the manufacturing sector grows, the need for adhesives also grows,” she said.
According to Sinclair, H.B. Fuller has a sales and technical service teams in Indonesia and has sold adhesives in Indonesia for many years.
“This will be H.B. Fuller’s first manufacturing facility in Indonesia. We do have another plant in Southeast Asia – Malaysia,” she added.
End-of-line, container labeling & flexible packaging
“We have a range of adhesives across different technologies that we sell to customers depending on their needs.
"We provide adhesives and engineering services for end-of-line packaging, container labeling, flexible packaging, retail-ready packaging, handle and packaging reinforcement and specialty packaging, helping brands continue to advance their packaging designs.
“Our packaging adhesives enable customers to achieve high performance, trouble-free bonding with less adhesive consumption.”
She said the company will mark the launch with a grand opening ceremony to officially open the plant next year.
Next it plans to successfully build and start up its Indonesia plant to offer better services to its customers in Indonesia and Southeast Asia.
