DNV has acquired International Standards Certifications (ISC) which has a strong presence in Asia.

The firm said the deal would increase its footprint and scale in Australia and Japan.

ISC is a certification and training body accredited by JAS-ANZ (Joint Accreditation System – Australia New Zealand) and Exemplar Global.

It provides certification and training services for products and systems across industry sectors, including healthcare and food and beverage.

"For the DNV GL Group, the acquisition of ISC confirms our strong commitment to grow within the assurance sector and in particular in management systems & product certification sector, strengthening our brand and positioning,” said Renato Grottola, chief strategy and M&A officer at DNV.

ISC certifies small to large organisations to National and International standards, across management systems and product certifications.

Tony Wilde, group chairman and owner of ISC, said: “We were particularly keen to ensure that ISC went to a good home with a strong commitment to ethical business practices, to its employees, its audit teams and its customers and we are certain DNV GL is just such an organization.”
