Chinese noodles given all-clear following mass safety inspections
The China Food and Drug Administration said 129 different packets of seasoning oil and vegetable flavourings of 67 instant lines made by Master Kong, Uni-President, Nongshim, Jinmailang, Wugudaochang, Nissin and Doll brands had been inspected. The move comes in the wake of the implication of some Taiwanese instant noodle makers in food safety scandals.
The lead, total arsenic and organic arsenic contained in the packets were below 1.0 parts per million, 0.5 ppm and 0.1 ppm respectively—permissible by food safety standards.
The examinations were conducted by the National Food Quality Supervision and Inspection Centre and the National Quality Supervision and Testing Center for Processed Food in Guangzhou.
