Mondelez announces leadership changes in EEMEA and Asia
Pant had headed the Asia Pacific and Eastern Europe, Middle East & Africa (EEMEA) region but will leave his post at the end of this year after
Timothy P. Cofer, 44, who currently works as president for Europe at Mondelez, will replace Pant.
He takes the role from Pradeep Pant, 59, who will retire at the end of the year after spending seven years with the company.
Cofer’s vacated post as president of Europe, a region worth $14bn for Mondelez, will be filled by Hubert Weber, formerly head of European coffee at Mondelez.
Weber, who has been at the company for 25 years, will be based in Zurich as Cofer makes the move to Singapore in Mid-September.
Pant will work with Cofer over the next few months to ensure a smooth transition.
Rosenfeld on the changes
Mondelez chairman and CEO Irene Rosenfeld said: "During his tenure, Pradeep and his team more than doubled revenue in Asia Pacific through organic growth, while also integrating two large businesses and significantly improving profitability.
"Fortunately, we have a strong bench, and Tim and Hubert are experienced and highly successful leaders.
Both Weber and Cofer will become part of Mondelez’s Leadership Team and will report to Irene Rosenfeld.
India shakeup
Mondelez subsidiary Cadbury India also recently made wholesale changes to its management structure. See HERE.
The company is currently facing tax evasion accusations in India dating back to events in 2010 when it acquired Cadbury India and built a factory in Himachal Pradesh. The company says the management shakeup is unconnected to the tax probe.
