The company announced the formation of ANOC Stevia Solutions Co. Ltd. to focus on providing naturally sweetened zero and reduced calorie food and beverage formulations to customers outside Mainland China.
According to Sophia Luke, the new company is a 100 per cent owned subsidiary of AN0C Hong Kong and is incorporated in Hong Kong as well.
“GLG’s strategy is to be the vertically-integrated global leader in the agricultural and commercial development of high quality stevia and all natural and zero calorie food and beverage products,” said Luke.
“That starts from our patented seeds through to BlendSure, the new form of stevia extract, to our AN0C consumer products, and finally to AN0C Stevia Solutions,” she said.
According to Luke, the patent that GLG was granted in early June allowed it to refine and produce high volumes of high purity high-purity stevioside (STV), which is an integral component of BlendSure.
“AN0C Stevia Solutions will focus on customer opportunities outside of China, either through GLG’s existing stevia distributors or through direct customer inquiries,” said Luke.
“The Middle East and India are markets that we feel have certain similarities to China, and which we can enter quickly. We are already working on opportunities in those markets,” she added.
The new company also launched its first product line last week, the AN0C Dream Sweetener product series that includes the AN0C Dream Sweetener x10, x30, x60, and x100 (the numbers reflecting their relative sweetness to sugar).
“A patent application for this series of new products is in the process of being filed with the State Intellectual Property Office in China, and AN0C plans to file a PCT application to attain international patent protection for this IP,” said Luke.
The all-natural products used with BlendSure to create the AN0C Dream Sweetener products have all been previously certified under the FDA GRAS process, according to Luke.
