Sensient opens new research laboratories in Guangzhou

Sensient Technologies has opened a new plant in Guangzhou, China, including offices and laboratories for the production of flavors, colors, fragrances, and pharmaceutical coatings, the company has said.

Chairman and CEO of Sensient Technologies Corporation Kenneth Manning said in a statement: “This manufacturing facility is a key part of our global strategy and it strengthens Sensient’s presence in China. The Guangzhou location positions Sensient for growth in one of the most dynamic economies in the world. It greatly increases our production capabilities with state-of-the-art equipment and new processing technologies.”

The Guangzhou laboratories are intended for research, application development and quality control, Sensient said.

The new site is the company’s fifth in China. Sensient already has a plant for processing dehydrated flavors in Qingdao, a technical center and sales offices in Shanghai, and offices and laboratories in Beijing and Hong Kong.
