PepsiCo inaugurated its sixth beverage production plant in Vietnam; a market the company says holds exciting growth opportunities.
The latest plant is situated in the Southern province of Dong Nai and with a land area of more than ten hectares and a production capacity of 180,000 litres per year; it is PepsiCo’s largest plant in the country.
Popular carbonated and non-carbonated beverages such as Pepsi, 7Up, Sting, Mirinda, Twister and Aquafina purified water will be manufactured for the local market.
This continued investment in Vietnamese production plants is part of PepsiCo’s wider investment plan for the country. In August 2010, the beverage giant announced it was investing US$250m into business in Vietnam over three years.
Saad Abdul-Latif, CEO of PepsiCo Asia, Middle East and Africa said “Vietnam represents one of PepsiCo’s most exciting growth opportunities, and this investment is a reflection of our confidence in this dynamic country and the talented people who live and work here.”
