Despite a sharp increase in beverage consumption amongst
Australians over the last decade, sales of sugar-sweetened
carbonated soft drinks have fallen "dramatically",
according to a national trade association in the country.

usage to meet growing demand in the country for low-fat foods,
according to new research.
Increased meat and fat consumption, and lower grain and vegetable
intake has left 60 million urban residents in China overweight and
160 million with high blood pressure, according to a report
released at the weekend.
Australia's government will work with industry to reduce trans
fatty acids in Australian food, it announced this week, despite
figures that suggest intake of the fats among the population is
within safe limits.
