In Asia Pacific’s increasingly completive food and beverage space, technological advances are crucial for firms to drive operational efficiency and effectively manage data across the supply chain.

With traceability, transparency and food safety three of the hottest topic among consumers and regulators, getting a grip on increasingly complex supply chains to maintain trust and credibility, while operating more effectively, has never been more important.

One such solution is offered is cloud-based enterprise resource planning (ERP), which helped Singapore firm SunMoon Food Company, increase its productivity and saved S$20,000 (US$14,600) in just five months.

This came after the firm ditched its reliance on emails to engage with  farmers, suppliers and customers for stock taking, order management, invoicing and billing and implemented Oracle’s NetSuite OneWorld solution.

SunMoon used the system to manage its financials, inventory and order management, as well as financial consolidation across three subsidiaries located in China, Indonesia, and the US.

SunMoon Food Company deputy chairman and CEO Gary Loh said: “SunMoon offers over 200 products through more than 11,000 points of sales to 169 customers in 20 countries, and these numbers are growing daily.”

“With NetSuite OneWorld, we’ve been able to move our products seamlessly from farm to fork on a global scale much faster and more efficiently.”

In order to provide more details on the potential benefits of cloud-based ERP, Oracle will be hosting a webinar on FoodNavigator-Asia this Wednesday.

“In this session, we will show you all the data and financials the CEO and CFO can access through a single dashboard, which lets you drill from a global view down to a transaction level,” said  Kenny Hong Senior Manager Solution Consulting, Singapore & Hong Kong, who will lead the presentation.
