The company said the website was “the newest addition in Tomra’s effort to be closer to the customer and to serve them in their own language”.
The site will also offer a social media stream of Tomra’s videos on YouKu, China’s most popular video website.
Tomra said it was planning to expand its additional language offering, with several new websites to come this year.
However, Thorsten Niermeyer, business unit manager process analytics, denied the company planned to target the Chinese meat market: “Tomra is a global company with a broad variety of products and China is one of the focus markets.
“However, the meat division in Tomra is not yet expanding into China. At the moment there are no plans to do so in the foreseeable future.”
