OSI China responds to “questionable” comments

The company said the statement, made about products which were raw or partially cooked, requiring further cooking before consumption, was misleading and did not meet the definition of ‘questionable products’ as set out by the China Food and Drug Administration.
The company said it had worked hard to fully cooperate with the Shanghai FDA and had withdrawn, through a voluntary recall, its products from the market following the scandal over hygiene practices at the firm, which was publicised last summer.
"Our company’s active cooperation with the Shanghai FDA in the voluntary product recall and disposal cannot be construed in any way as an admission by Shanghai HUSI of food safety problems in such voluntarily recalled products," read a statement from the firm.
