Since July, India has stubbornly blocking the adoption of a trade facilitation agreement that would allow WTO members to standardise their customs procedures at posts and border posts. Prime Minister Modi’s stance on food security has come under criticism mainly from western nations who were happy to point out India’s isolation from most of the rest of the WTO.
