Connell Bros inks distribution deal for broccoli seed extract in Asia

Connell Brothers will supply the nutraceutical ingredient, which came from research by scientists at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and was further developed commercially opportunity by Brassica Protection Products, across Australasia, Greater China, India and southeast Asia.

The global herbal supplements and remedies market is forecast to reach US$107bn by year 2017, with Asia-Pacific booming at an annual rate of 10.5%—the world’s biggest predicted growth. 

China and India are together leading this supplements surge, giving the wider region a high source of market potential for SGS, a patent-protected nutritional ingredient, designed to induce crucial protective enzymes in humans.

SGS broccoli seed extract contains glucoraphanin, a phytochemical naturally found in broccoli. When consumed, glucoraphanin converts to a potent antioxidant and cellular protector called sulforaphane. These enzymes eliminate many types of free radicals and environmental pollutants and trigger ongoing antioxidant action.
