Australasia's ‘one-stop’ manufacturing event foodpro set for bumper 50th year
One of APAC's biggest food manufacturing events, foodpro, returns for its 50th year next month with organisers announcing all exhibitor space has sold out.

Food manufacturing makes up 23% of Australia’s annual exports; the food and agribusiness industry produced $53.9 billion of value added in 2014-15 alone.

Organisers say foodpro is a unique one-stop destination of technology and solutions to all businesses in the food processing and manufacturing industry.

The event takes place International Convention Centre at Sydney’s Darling Harbour from 16 – 19 July, where FoodNavigator-Asia will be the international digital media partner.

Foodpro features four key precincts: food processing technology, food packaging, plant equipment and food technology. Access to new trends will be priority as well as insight into key issues facing the industry such as traceability, food safety and sustainability.

Trends and techniques

Alsongide the exhibitors, industry experts will gather at the show to provide valuable insight to businesses on risk mitigation, trends, and techniques to stay profitable. Beyond the latest equipment and technology, adherence to the laws of food labelling and compliance are paramount to a successful business.

The event is co-locating with AIFST’s annual convention, where over 600 delegates are expected to attend the two-day summit on the topic of The Future of Food.

Foodpro will also partner with FIAL to launch a new Supply Chain Integrity Zone, focusing on solutions available for small manufacturers who produce pre-packaged goods for sale to the consumer.

Companies across the various stages of the supply chain will be represented, allowing visitors to discuss end-to-end solutions with suppliers best suited for their business. The zone will also include a series of seminars covering the latest technology, capabilities and insights.

“The Supply Chain Integrity Zone is a really important and exciting addition to foodpro” said Peter Petherick, foodpro event director. “Foodpro has supported Australia’s manufacturing needs for 50 years, and it’s important we continue to respond to the industry as it changes. It’s become clear that there are an increasing number of smaller manufacturers whose needs, although similar to the bigger companies, must be met in more specific ways.”
