Givaudan, a global flavour and fragrance house, has pumped more than €11.5M into a new Tokyo-based technical centre.

The Swiss-headquartered firm, which turned over 4.4bn in 2014, has operations in 80 locations and employs 9,500 people across the world. It will use the new facility to boost its growing food and drink presence in Japan.

“The new 4,000m² centre will serve all market sectors, including savoury, sweet, dairy and beverages,” the firm’s chief executive officer Gilles Andrier said.

Investment

“Our investment in new facilities in Tokyo demonstrates Givaudan’s ongoing commitment to the Japanese food manufacturing and foodservice sectors, which we have been serving since 1970,” he added.

A new commercial head and company manager for Japan, Fabrizio Raho, was appointed following the opening of the technical centre to develop Givaudan's Japanese business.
