Dutch life science company DSM has opened a sizeable new plant in Gujarat to produce its Fortitech premixes in Vadodara, Gujarat. At an investment of US$10m, it will be the company’s first human nutrition plant in India.

The plant, which covers 5,000 square metres, will service the South Asian market through teams split between Delhi and Mumbai. It will also support a business development group that is based in Malaysia, as well as a planned nutrition innovation centre in Singapore.

We see tremendous opportunity in India in the food, beverage and dietary supplement market,” said Bharath Sesha, president of DSM India.

Indian consumers are becoming more aware of healthy lifestyle choices and are actively looking for nutritional products that they can rely on.”
