IOI Loders Croklaan-Kerry JV to manufacture lipids in Malaysia
A joint-venture between IOI Loders Croklaan, a Dutch oils major, and Ireland’s Kerry Group will manufacture nutrition lipids at a factory in Malaysia for the global market.

Negotiations between the companies are expected to conclude over the coming weeks, subject to competition approval.

The equal-share alliance is centred on Betapol, a specialty lipid for infant nutrition. The new partnership will work together to extend its infant nutrition range, and expand into other key nutrition markets.

IOI Loders Croklaan, the creator of Betapol, was the first to introduce OPO-type fats to the market, and has supplied speciality lipids over the last 25 years.

The company will manufacture Betapol for the joint venture, primarily at its enzymatic facility in Pasir Gudang, Malaysia, as well as managing product logistics.

The joint-venture will be responsible for business development and innovation. Betapol will be integrated into Kerry’s global nutritional ingredients portfolio, backed by unparalleled global applications, marketing and sales support.
