Vitafoods Asia counts 2000+ quality visitors among successes
As Vitafoods Asia closes its doors on a successful three-day debut edition in Hong Kong today, event director Chris Lee shares impressions of the show with Shane Starling, and ponders refinements to the event in 2012.

“We’ve had just over 2000 visitors come through our doors and about 65 per cent conversion rate from our pre-registration,” Lee said noting 47 countries had been represented at the show. “But we also had 3-400 people come through on the day that haven’t pre-registered for the event.”

“94 per cent of these people are manager-level or above – 96 per cent of the people are at final decision making level so that’s a really key thing for the suppliers to see the buyers.”

Standing room-only

Lee said the education programme would be revamped in 2012, especially after the number of packed, standing room-only sessions held at this year’s 55-seat education hall.

“We going to add a conference stream next year so we are going to split up the keynotes we have had in the seminar theatre this year and still leave the theatre for commercial suppliers and exhibitors and then bring in the Chinese Nutrition Society to start running themes.”

Other national nutrition societies would also be involved, Lee said.
