Related tags Islam

Asian Muslims are becoming savvier when it comes to quality food products, according to an expert on the Muslim market.

Lisa Mabe, principal and founder of Hewar Social Communication, told FoodNavigator-Asia.com there is great opportunity for manufacturers in the Halal market, specifically with premium Halal products. Muslim consumers are currently looking to more quality foods that adhere to Islam.

However, Mabe identifies challenges manufacturers should anticipate, such as competition with local products. She says that cities throughout Asia make for ideal entry points for companies to either initiate or further a stronghold in the Muslim community, as city-dwellers are more familiar with brands and international products.
