Taiwanese food manufacturer, Uni-President Enterprises Corporation, will invest US$100 million in a new factory in Eastern China, strengthening its presence in the country.

Currently the Taiwan giant has close to 30 facilities throughout China and a headquarters in Shanghai, and has been building production sites in the country since 1992.

This new facility marks the company’s second investment in the Eastern city of Kunshan.

The Taiwanese manufacturer first built a facility there in 1993 on 400 acres with 16 production lines in beverages, instant noodles and soy sauce. According to the company it is the largest and most heavily invested in enterprise in China.

Uni-President identified the city of Kunshan as an ‘advantageous geographic location’ with major metropolitan areas nearby, including Shanghai.
